Erin is a very caring knowledgeable coach. I would definitely work with her again. -- Tarvia
I understand. That’s the most important thing you need to know about me. I’ve had chronic fatigue syndrome since my freshman year in college and full-blown fibromyalgia since I was 27. I’ve had aches and pains since childhood, a severe genetic sleep disorder, and myriad of other dysfunctions and comorbidities. I grew up caring for a mother who has fibromyalgia, chemical sensitivity, and a spinal cord injury. So I ‘get it;’ as a patient and a care giving family member.
Several years ago I hit my lowest point. I could barely get out of bed and could barely take care of myself. I lost my career, my house, my independence, pretty much everything. By some miracle I rallied and really pressed into getting well; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I moved to a more supportive and healthy community and environment. I decided to get off the traditional doctor carousel and embraced functional and naturopathic medicine. A whole new world of possibilities opened up to me. I researched everything I could find regarding chronic illness, health, functional medicine, supplements, and treatments. I finally started getting answers to my own health issues and I started getting better. Better than I ever hoped of getting, and in a surprisingly very short amount of time. I found most of my symptoms were from very curable root causes. It was life changing! I was finally able to start living and hoping again.
I looked back on my journey and thought there should have been a better way. I wasted years of my young life on ineffective treatments, horrible side effects, condensing doctors, and feeling I was lost in a never ending maze looking for answers. Now that I have the answers I want to shout from the rooftops all that I’ve learned so I can save others the painful experience I went through. I became a certified fibromyalgia coach and a certified integrative wellness and life coach to do just that. I am a bottomless source of knowledge for all things fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue related. I am confident in my ability to guide you to the answers you need to feel better and restore your life.
I am eager to help you in any way that you need. Whether it’s a shoulder to cry on, finally receiving the validation you need, finding a supportive team of doctors, finally getting the right tests run, to finding treatments that will actually work. I’m your person. I understand and I CAN help you improve your symptoms and your life.
I truly want to help everyone who is motivated to get well. To do that I have tried to lower some of the common barriers to wellness. My hours are shifted to the afternoons and evenings to help you better access coaching outside of work hours. I have also recently implemented sliding scale rates so those with limited means can still afford my services. It is my desire to meet you where you're at and make it as easy as possible to access great care.
Mission Statement: Providing genuine, honest coaching and guidance for women with fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue to improve their quality of life, reduce their pain and fatigue, and restore balance to their lives through self-discovery, self-healing, and small life modifications. I give support and share tools and resources that you won't find anywhere else. My desire is to stop women from needlessly suffering from chronic pain and fatigue and restart their life full of joy, success, action, family, and friends. Enjoy saying “YES” again!
Erin learned the importance of leaving a legacy of helping others from her father. Since his passing in 2008, Erin has dedicated herself to making the world a better place through her work at local and international non-profits and now as a personal coach. In addition to her Fibromyalgia Coach Certification from the International Fibromyalgia Coaching Institute, Erin is a Certified Integrative Wellness and Life Coach through the Integrative Wellness Academy. Erin’s coaching approach involves bringing balance to all four body systems, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual in order to achieve wellness. Her desire is to help people with fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue rediscover their passion for life through self-discovery, self-healing, and small life modifications.
Erin experienced being a fibromyalgia caregiver as a teenager when her Mother was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at age 46. Erin herself was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at age 22 and eventually fibromyalgia at age 27. As a single young female she struggled to find peers who could understand her situation.
Six years after being diagnosed and experiencing very little improvement, Erin switched to functional medicine doctors that embraced complementary and alternative medicine and began working with her fibromyalgia advisor. Through these changes she has finally begun to thrive again. She decided to become a coach so she can help others follow in her footsteps to recovery.
Erin lives in Portland, Oregon with her two chubby tabby cats, Linus and Dexter. She is active in her local fibromyalgia and chronic pain support group and recently spoke on a panel about chronic pain at Oregon Health & Science University. When she is not coaching she likes to spend time with her family, attend gentle yoga classes and social meditation, go to Sunday brunch, and curl up with a good book with a purring cat on her lap.
